Flowing Business Office Hours

A funny shift happens around this time of year—especially with the world as it is.

Even the most self-aware, therapy-devoted, yoga-practicing humans start to grip.

We grip our calendars.
We grip our bank accounts and revenue goals.
We grip our relationships and family plans and “this year has to mean something” stories.

The more uncertain or wobbly things feel, the tighter we hold.

“If I can just get my systems together…”
“If I can just finish this launch / project / conversation…”
“If I can just push a little harder…”

Underneath all that effort is often a hope that more control will save us.

If we hold on tighter—push a little harder—maybe we won’t have to feel the fear, grief, or uncertainty humming underneath.

But here’s the paradox I keep seeing in myself and my clients: The more tightly we grip, the less flow we feel.

We run our businesses like anxious little gods, trying to hold up the sky by ourselves.

It’s exhausting. And ironically, it usually makes us less effective.

Our clients feel our tension.
Our partners and teams feel our pressure.
We stay in hyper-vigilance instead of creativity.
We obsess over outcomes instead of listening to what wants to happen.

By the end of the day, we’re wrung out and resentful, wondering why the life we worked so hard to design doesn’t actually feel good.

This isn’t a strategy problem. It’s a state problem.

You can’t spreadsheet your way into peace.

You need new muscles—the muscles of ok-ness.

  • The ones that let you trust what’s happening instead of fighting it.
  • That let you rest when your body whispers instead of waiting until it screams.
  • That let you meet the unexpected with curiosity instead of panic.

That inner steadiness is a skill set, not a personality trait. And it’s absolutely learnable.

Which is why I’m trying a little experiment for the rest of the year…

Introducing: Flowing Business Office Hours

A weekly space for recovering control freaks to practice moving from overwhelm to overflow—together.

Bring your business or life issue and get a few minutes of free coaching from me.

Everyone’s welcome—especially the overfunctioners, overthinkers, and overachievers who suspect there must be another way.

Here’s how it works:

  • It’s open, informal, and drop-in friendly.
  • I’ll coach multiple people live during the hour.
  • You can bring your issue—business, relationship, decision, or emotional wobble—and get a few minutes of real coaching and free advice.
  • Or you can simply listen in, soak up the wisdom, and get a feel for what it’s like to work with me.
  • Sessions will be recorded, and short clips may be used for marketing only with your explicit permission.

You’ll get practical insight, a nervous-system reset, and a firsthand taste of what it’s like to work with me.

You’ll leave clearer, calmer, and more yourself.
