I decided not to wait—and I’m still nervous about it.
Those of you who have been following along on the email list know I’m in the midst of a long, slow, cryptic, mysterious transition towards a different type of business.
I’ve hinted at it, but I haven’t really “come out” yet about it because I kept feeling not ready.
I still feel not ready in the traditional sense…
- I don’t have a (relevant) website
- I don’t have a one-liner
- I don’t have a clearly articulated niche
- I don’t have a fancy new logo
- I don’t have business cards
- I don’t even have booking links set up specifically for the new work
In other words, I’m missing a lot of the stuff my brain is wanting to tell me is necessary to start a new business.
But this week, while wandering solo in Paris and binge listening to a podcast that has a STRONG bias towards the power of taking action to build belief, I decided to just start.
After all, I’ve been a fan of the idea that Momentum is Messy for a couple years now.
So there I am, sitting on a Parisian Ferris wheel by myself, and I pull out my pocket video studio (aka iPhone) and announce to the world that I’m a life coach.
This might be too honest for my own good, but the truth is I’m still cringing a little at the term “life coach.”
I decided to run with it because it’s good enough for now, and it does fit—I’m here to coach people about how to find their way into a more satisfying, less excruciating version of being human.
I might change that term in the future, but I’m done sitting around stewing in my own head about what resonates, what works, what’s perfect.
I’m going to let myself have messy momentum and find out.
So, dear readers, the doors are open if you feel inspired to get 1:1 or group support for living more in a powerful state and less at the effect of the circumstances of your life.
Hit reply and we’ll talk about how I can help you.
And if that’s not alive for you right now, then I hope my example is a reminder and an inspiration that despite what the saboteur / monster voices in our head might scream at us, our lives won’t fall apart if we show up in public just a little half-baked.
Momentously yours,
Rachel
PS – Feeling seriously on the struggle bus with some core aspect of life, especially an intimate relationship? Ready for help but don’t have much spare cash right now? I’m putting together a small beta group to run through the Positive Intelligence mental fitness program at a serious discount starting in mid-December, partly as an act of service, partly for my own learning. Hit reply if you want to be considered as part of that.
