What’s something you’re committed to in your life?
Appreciating the people you love?
Getting enough sleep?
Earning a certain amount of money this quarter?
Saving a certain amount each month?
Helping more clients?
Learning the guitar?
Taking plenty of time off from work?
Eating healthy and exercising regularly?
Whatever it is, these are your conscious commitments—the things you actively choose to value and prioritize.
But here’s the thing: Your unconscious commitments are actually running the show.
Your conscious mind is just the tip of the iceberg. What’s underwater—your unconscious beliefs, habits, desires, and patterns—is far more powerful.
So, how can you know what your unconscious commitments are?
Look at your results.
If your sleep is terrible, if you’re 10 pounds overweight, if you haven’t taken a real vacation in years, if you’re spending more than you make, if you’re attracting half the clients you want, if you haven’t touched your guitar in weeks…
That’s what you’re unconsciously committed to.
It might feel like a slap in the face, and some will argue, “But I HATE the way things are right now!”
This isn’t meant to make you feel bad.
It’s meant to give you back your power.
There’s no need for shame or self-criticism.
You can simply acknowledge it as a fact:
“Today is Friday, and I’m unconsciously committed to ______.”
When you fully own that you’re not just responsible for, but committed to your current reality, something shifts.
Energy frees up.
You stop resisting what is.
And, with awareness, you just might be willing to shift.
That’s a post for another day, though.
For now, think about it and hit reply: What’s something you’re unconsciously committed to right now?
Responsibly yours,
Rachel
PS – I’ll go first…
It’s Friday, and I’m unconsciously committed to a cluttered house.
It’s Friday, and I’m unconsciously committed to being vague about my coaching offers.
It’s Friday, and I’m unconsciously committed to not having my taxes done yet.
Your turn!
