“From a powerful state, you can’t help but create powerfully.” —Mitch Whiting
Let me tell you about my most productive day of writing:
First, I went to a yoga class with my partner.
Then, we spent a couple hours making love.
By midday, we decided it was time to work.
We set a timer and began several 45-minute coworking sessions.
I had two writing projects from two different clients. Both were complex.
For one, I had to come up with the core metaphor to open a high-level thought leadership article. I\’d felt stuck on it the day before, banging my head against the wall without clarity.
The other involved turning an interview into a blog post. I did this monthly, and it often took several hours. (This was before AI tools could help!)
But that Tuesday felt different.
In the first 45-minute session, a clear opening sequence flowed out of me. It felt effortless—like I was channeling. The words rang true.
When we started the next timer, I shifted to the blog post. Again, everything clicked. The entire draft came together in one focused session.
In just 90 minutes, I accomplished more than I often did in six hours.
And the quality? I could feel it. The writing sang.
What changed?
My state of consciousness.
After a morning of self-care, eros, connection, and love, I sat down glowing.
Brimming with creative energy. My body and mind were already resting in ease and delight.
That state of brilliance came from a shift in my internal state.
And that shift is available to all of us—anytime.
It doesn’t require a specific set of rituals..
But it does require awareness. You have to notice where you are and learn how to shift.
These shifts come partly from the body, partly from your thoughts.
That magical Tuesday?
Yes, yoga and lovemaking helped.
But those outer circumstances weren’t the cause of my brilliance. They were just the doorway I happened to walk through that day.
What really made the difference was my state of being.
From a suffering state, even the best strategy feels like a struggle. You push. You overthink. You burn out.
From a powerful state, everything changes. Ideas flow. Communication clicks. You act with clarity and ease instead of effort and fear.
External circumstances can support you, but they’re not essential.
Power is a skill you can learn.
It begins with noticing your state, shifting your focus, and choosing to create from presence.
This skill is non-negotiable if you want a truly satisfying life and a thriving business. It’s the foundation for creativity, leadership, and real success.
It’s also what I teach my coaching clients: how to shift out of reactivity and into power, no matter what’s happening around them.
If you’re ready to live and lead from that place, I’d love to help.
I offer free 75-minute consultations. We’ll map what’s keeping you stuck and what’s possible when you shift into a more powerful state—on purpose.
Hit reply and let’s find a time.
Powerfully yours,
Rachel
PS – I’ve helped clients move from reactivity to creative flow—not by changing their circumstances, but by changing how they show up. (And then somehow, as if by magic, the circumstances change. It’s wild.) If you\’re ready to experience that shift yourself, hit reply.
