Courage First

I met a woman recently who’s been a lawyer her whole career. Now she’s building a coaching business.

The problem is, she’s scared to tell anyone she’s a coach.

She’s afraid of looking stupid.

As a lawyer, she knows where she fits. She knows how to talk about it. She’s secure in her identity.

As a coach, she’s still waiting.

Waiting for life to give her evidence that she’s “good enough.”

Waiting for some judge to rule and tell her she’s worthy in this new way.

The ruling doesn’t come first.

The evidence doesn’t show up before the decision.

Courage does.

Courage to feel uncomfortable.

Courage to not know all the answers yet.

Courage to confuse people.

Courage to move forward anyway.

Courage to declare a dream and keep acting like it’s real—until it is.

We all LOVE stories of unlikely heroes. Underdogs. The ones who get knocked down and get right back up.

Harry Potter started in a closet under the stairs, for goodness’ sake.

We just forget that to live a heroic life, we have to be willing to be that messy, brave beginner.

The one who needs a guide.

The one who stumbles through the montage phase.

The one who keeps going.

So tell me:

What is it that you’re waiting to become…someday?

And what small, courageous move could you make today… before you’re fully ready?

Because you don’t need a ruling.

You need a first step.

Courageously yours,

Rachel

PS – You don’t have to be sure it’ll work. You just have to be willing to take the next step. The first act of change is choosing not to stay stuck.

Want support in taking that step? Let’s talk. I offer a free 75-minute consultation call to help you see what’s calling you—whether you decide to work with me or not. If nothing else, you’ll leave with new awareness. Reply “I’m in” and we’ll set up a time.
